I have found that I bounce between an XL and a 1X on Spanx bottoms. This all depends on the cut, style, and how the sizing runs. Examples: ponte flares, I need a 1X. While ponte wide leg an XL is perfect. I will also add that sometimes finding the perfect sizing for myself can be difficult due to my personal medical history of thyroid issues, which comes with about a 20 pound weight fluctuation. When I am in the 208-215 range XL wide legs are getting loose. While when I am in the 220-228 range XL wide legs are starting to get fitted in the upper thigh. So, when I saw this style had a zipper rather than pull up, I was nervous and hesitant to make the purchase. I am 5'9" and wear heals or boots to work so I always get Talls. Due to the zipper design, I ordered a 1X. What did I discover? Well, I absolutely fell in love with the quality, feel, and style of the pants! Being on the shorter end of "tall" but always wearing heals or boots, I still found the pant length to be slightly too long. However, this is likely because I really found that even though there was a zipper I could have gone down a size to the XL, same way I do with the ponte wide leg pants. Overall, I loved these pants so much I ordered two more pairs, this time XL Tall and even XL regular for the occasional day I decide to wear flats.
